The Brady Campaign |
The Brady campaign, of which the Million
Mom March is a part, produces antigun literature and pushes gun
control legislation. At best, it is very creative in its
interpretation of facts and statistics. At worst they parrot studies
long discredited and perpetuate mistruths about the benefits of gun
control while ignoring the benefits of gun ownership. Their stated
eventual goal is the banning of all handguns. |

Coalition to Stop Gun Violence
|
Their stated goal is to prevent gun
violence. The unstated aim of their attacks is to end gun ownership.
To achieve their goals, they support legislations counter to the
interests of gun owners and support using the court system to
bankrupt legitimate gun businesses. |

American Humane Society |
In their
Hunting Policy statement: "American Humane opposes the hunting
of any living creature for fun, trophy, or for simple sport.
American Humane believes that sport hunting is a form of
exploitation of animals for the entertainment of the hunter and is
contrary to the values of compassion and respect for all life that
inform American Humane's mission." |

The Fund for Animals bills itself as a
animal protection group. In practice, they fight all legislation
that may be considered pro-hunting and push all legislation to limit
hunting. An example of their work is

The Humane Society of the US |
This is not the group that runs your
local dog shelter. In their own words:
"The HSUS is dedicated to creating a world
where our relationship with animals is guided by compassion. We seek
a truly humane society in which animals are respected for their
intrinsic value, and where the human-animal bond is strong."
On
another page
they write "We also want to put an end to the commercial and
recreational killing of wild animals, to ensure strong and
well-enforced laws to guarantee their protection, and to make sure
they stay in the wild where they belong." |
